ELLESSE continues to collaborate with the cream of the creative crop in the year of its 50th anniversary. Silk screen artist Kate Gibb and animator Babis Alexiadis join world renowned illustrator Si Scott, in creating pieces to celebrate the brand’s rich and colourful heritage. Students from The London College of Fashion and The Institute of Design in Perugia, have also been commissioned to mark the landmark anniversary for the Italian sportswear brand.

Kate Gibb is a leading contemporary silk screen artist in the UK, recognised for her distinctive work for music act the Chemical Brothers and fashion designer Dries Van Noten. Colour, pattern and all guises of imagery play a large part in Kate’s work. Kate’s hand produced images are created by applying layer after layer of colour in a way that results in each print having its own unique characteristics.

ellesse also commissioned award-winning animation artist Babis Alexiadis. Babis created a unique palette of water colours to illustrate the brand’s colourful history. The short animation features hand-stitched characters and subtle references to the brand with the ellesse logo being referred to throughout, masquerading as a shimmering sunset in one scene.
